p-Laplace Variational Image Inpainting Model Using Riesz Fractional Differential Filter

    Get PDF
In this paper, p-Laplace variational image inpainting model with symmetric Riesz fractional differential filter is proposed. Variational inpainting models are very useful to restore many smaller damaged regions of an image. Integer order variational image inpainting models (especially second and fourth order) work well to complete the unknown regions. However, in the process of inpainting with these models, any of the unindented visual effects such as staircasing, speckle noise, edge blurring, or loss in contrast are introduced. Recently, fractional derivative operators were applied by researchers to restore the damaged regions of the image. Experimentation with these operators for variational image inpainting led to the conclusion that second order symmetric Riesz fractional differential operator not only completes the damaged regions effectively, but also reducing unintended effects. In this article, The filling process of damaged regions is based on the fractional central curvature term. The proposed model is compared with integer order variational models and also GrunwaldLetnikov fractional derivative based variational inpainting in terms of peak signal to noise ratio, structural similarity and mutual information

In the past few years, FDM basedpolymer3D printing process has flourished mainly with ABS filaments as a thermoplastic source. Food packing, medical, marine and agriculture industries employdevices and other usable items made of polymers. Utilizing layered fabrication components in these areascompelthem to have self-cleansing, anti-freezing and corrosion resistant surfaces. It is generally complex and expensive to prepare hydrophobic coatings. The present work is related to the development of a surface coating on 3D printed ABS specimens with the mentioned properties. 3D printed specimens were fabricated using Flash Forge 3D printer without any modifications, and the hydrophobic coatings were achieved by dip coating process using Tricalcium phosphate-chitin solutions with a ratio of 70:30. Static contact angle measurement was employedin gaging wettability impact on dip coated 3D printed specimens. By using digital vernier calipers and profilometer (SJ410), dimensional accuracy and surface roughness were assessed pre and post-coating. According to ASTM D570-98, water absorption tests were conducted at different time intervals. Results of the experiment showed that the hydrophobic solutions had been successfully synthesized. The maximum contact angle was achieved for solution 1(4g of tricalcium phosphate solution with 0.3g chitin solution) i.e., 109.3°. Improvement in the textureof 3D printed ABS surfaceswasobserved after dip coating. Dip-coated 3D printed ABS specimens exhibited minimal absorption based on their weight gain per area

Objective: To develop a rapid, sensitive, accurate, precise, linear and rugged Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method and validate as per ICH guidelines for the quantitative estimation of Eplerenone in tablets. Methods: The optimized method uses a reverse phase column, Waters Symmetry C18 (250 X 4.6 mm; 5μ), a mobile phase of triethylammonium phosphate buffer (pH 2.3):acetonitrile in the proportion of 40:60 v/v, flow rate of 1.0 ml/min and a detection wavelength of 240 nm using a UV detector. Results: The developed method resulted in Eplerenone eluting at 3.63 min. Eplerenone exhibited linearity in the range 15-45μg/ml. The precision is exemplified by relative standard deviation of 0.34%. Percentage Mean recovery was found to be in the range of 98â€102, during accuracy studies. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantitiation (LOQ) was found to be 39.16μg/ml and 118.66μg/ml respectively. Conclusion: A sensitive, rapid, accurate, precise, linear and rugged RP-HPLC method was developed and validated for the quantitative estimation of Eplerenone in tablets as per ICH guidelines and hence it can be used for routine analysis in various pharmaceutical industries.Â

Objective: The objective of present study was to develop and validate a specific and sensitive HPLC method for the quantitative determination of genotoxic impurity 2-cyano-4'-bromomethyl biphenyl present in irbesartan drug substance. Methods: The development activity was conducted by HPLC with UV as a detector. The impurity was separated on Kromasil C18 250 x 4.6 mm, 5 µm analytical column with a mobile phase consisting of buffer pH 3.2 and acetonitrile in the ratio of 60:40 v/v at a flow rate 1.5 ml/min. The effluent was monitored by UV detection at 258 nm with column temperature maintained at 40 °C and the injection volume 30 μl. Acetonitrile was selected as diluent. Results: Validation activity was planned and completed based on the ICH guideline. The LOD and LOQ value were found to be 0.167 µg/g and 0.506 µg/g and accuracy results were well in the range 98.34 to 103.46 %. The linearity curve showed the correlation coefficient of 0.9999 and method very sensitive. Conclusion: From validation data, it was confirmed that the developed method is specific, sensitive, linear, precise and accurate for the determination of 2-cyano-4'-bromomethyl biphenyl genotoxic impurity in irbesartan drug substances

Background: In the era of technological advancement, tissue microarray technology (TMA) plays a promising role in supplementing high-throughput molecular analytical studies. Fewer studies in the field of tumor pathology in brain biopsies demand for more analysis using this technique. Aims/ Objectives: The main objective of this study is to validate whether the tumor morphology is conserved in TMA slides in comparison with the conventional H&E slides. Materials and Methods: We analyzed 40 cases of malignant glial tumors (astrocytoma/ oligodendroglioma) using this technology where TMA blocks were constructed using 40 conventionally constructed formalin-fixed paraffin embedded blocks. H&E staining was carried out for all the TMA slides. Results: Out of the 40 cases analyzed, 36 cases (90%) showed positive for tumor. The other 4 cases (10%) showed no evidence of tumor. Out of 36 cases, 31 cases (86.1%) matched the diagnosis done with both the methods. Five cases (13.8%) showed non-concordant diagnosis when compared with the diagnosis given based on conventional H&E slides. Conclusion: Tissue microarray technology is definitely a promising tool which can be used for further molecular analysis thereby reducing the costs of reagents. Tumor morphology is conserved on TMA slides which are representative of the original blocks and slides constructed using conventional method. This technique can be useful in the cases in which the tissue is limited and if further molecular analysis is required on such tissues
